KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia ended the morning trading session in the red, weighed down by persistent selling, and in line with its regional peers, said an analyst.
At 12.30 pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) fell 5.85 points, or 0.37 per cent, to 1,580.75 from Thursday's close of 1,586.60.
The benchmark index opened 4.63 points easier at 1,581.97.
The broader market was negative, with decliners trouncing gainers 785 to 188, with 355 counters unchanged, 1,049 untraded and 67 suspended.
Turnover stood at 2.0 billion shares worth RM1.57 billion.
