Really? Bcos of coronavirus? Avianca’s financial situation for the last 6 years was really bad: less than 3% net margin yoy, high debt in such that debt/equity is more than 2 yoy. While airlines business is a highly leveraged business but less than 3% net margin yoy for the last 6 years sounded fishy though. Probably it’s beyond oil price that makes it’s fixed cost eating up its margins. Well, if Airasia is having the same yoy performance for the last few years before the pandemic, it’s possible for it to get into similar complications.
